I’ve heard of avocado brownies before but never tried it. Mainly because it sounds gross. Well, our healthy September is in full swing, so here I am, making avocado brownies from Clean & Delicious. Guess what. They were gross. Okay, not completely gross, but I couldn’t eat them as is. You know I hate waste, so they’re currently in the freezer until I can cover them with chocolate and/or frosting.
Was it easy to make?
It’s a pretty easy mix and bake type of recipe. I hate having to clean my food processor though.
Would it satisfy your craving for a brownie?
Absolutely not. Now I know what you’re thinking, “Lauren, you didn’t really follow the recipe.” You’re right, I omitted the chocolate chips, because I don’t any chocolate chips without dairy or refined sugar, and I bet they would have made these brownies a million times better. They need some real chocolate and some real sugar, y’all.
Would you make it again?
I’d also be willing to try them again with apple sauce instead of mashed banana. The banana flavor was extremely overpowering. So, while these avocado brownies might be clean, the were not delicious. Sorry Dani.
